Comes with detailed instructions sheet. If missing please email info@davisfinest.com

Instructions: How to Apply Henna (permanent hair dye)

1. Mix Henna with enough lemon juice in a non-metallic bowl (or any acidic liquid such as apple or orange juice) to make a thick paste (like extra thick set custard or yoghurt) cover with cling film and rest overnight to release dye. Will be lumpy but smooth after resting.

2. Next day or after a few hours (3-4 if short of time) uncover and mix into smooth paste. Apply to hair (washed or unwashed) with cone or simply using fingertips which is far easier (make sure you have gloves on!)

3. Start from the back of the neck upwards applying generously from roots to hair ends until hair completely covered.

4. Wrap hair with plastic wrap and leave in for as long as you can but for at least 2 hours.

5. Wash henna out with shampoo or rinse out thoroughly if you washed hair before applying. Finish hair off as normal OR, if using Indigo after Henna to achieve black hair, towel dry hair and apply
indigo.

6. Hair colour will get darker within 2-3 days.

Can I use on chemically treated hair?

Yes you can. However, if hair is bleached after using henna or indigo then hair colour will be affected.

Is henna a permanent dye?

Henna is considered permanent because although it appears to fade over time because it's a transparent dye that coats hair it will still leave red colour which can grow out; hair colour gets redder with each application of solely using henna. However it does appear to fade much quicker on gray hair depending on individual hair.

Can this be used for dying eyebrows?

There is no reason why you cannot as it is body art quality which is the same quality for hair, eyebrows or beard as it can only be one henna powder, although there are cheaper less sifted (and altered with chemicals) henna on the market. Unfortunately to get black will be the same process as hair but if eyebrows are already black then indigo only can be used to darken brows (10-15 mins and test otherwise brows might get jet black). Having said that, it depends on existing colour of eyebrows and intending colour i.e. nearly black using 90% indigo to 10% henna, light brown 70% henna to 30% indigo, dark brown 70% indigo to 30% henna and medium brown 50% each. Dye release henna as usual and add indigo to henna. Be careful to wipe off the excess from surrounding skin area before leaving to develop. Best to use an eyebrow stencils/shaper which would make the job a lot easier and better.
